Caelo Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Caelo ("Caelo", "we", "us", "our") governing your use of the Caelo mobile app and the services we provide through it (together, the "App") — a social wishlist and gifting app available on Android and iOS.
By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and forms part of this agreement.

1. Who may use Caelo
You must be at least 13 years old to create a Caelo account. We ask for your date of birth at signup and block accounts below that age. If the law where you live sets a higher minimum age for using a service like this without a parent's consent, you must meet that age or have your parent or guardian's consent.
You also must not be barred from using the App under the laws of your country, and you must not have been previously removed from Caelo for breaking these Terms.
2. Your account
- Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep it up to date.
- Your account is personal to you. Don't share your login, and don't let anyone else use your account.
- Keep your password secure. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has accessed your account.
- You're responsible for everything that happens under your account, unless it was caused by our failure.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Deleting removes your profile and content and cascades that deletion across our systems, as described in the Privacy Policy. Some records may be retained where the law requires it.
3. Your content and who owns it
"Your content" means everything you add to Caelo: wishlists, items, titles, descriptions, notes, comments, photos you upload, your profile picture and bio.
You keep ownership of your content. We don't claim it, and we don't sell it.
To actually run the App, we need your permission to handle it. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, resize, adapt for display, and distribute your content for the purpose of operating, securing and improving the App — for example: showing your wishlist to the people you shared it with, generating thumbnails, creating the link-preview card when you share a wishlist, and backing the data up. This licence lasts only as long as you keep the content on Caelo, and ends when you delete the content or your account (allowing a short period for backups and caches to clear, and excluding copies others may have already saved or screenshotted).
You confirm that you have the rights to the content you upload, and that it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.
If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them freely without owing you anything. You're not obliged to send feedback.
4. Rules of use
Don't use Caelo to post, share, or do any of the following.
Prohibited content
- Illegal goods or services — drugs, weapons, stolen goods, prescription medicines, endangered wildlife, or anything else whose sale is illegal where you or the recipient live.
- Counterfeit or infringing items — fakes, replicas sold as genuine, pirated media, or anything that infringes someone's trademark or copyright.
- Violence and hate — threats, incitement to violence, terrorist or extremist material, or content that attacks or degrades people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, disease, age, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation.
- Sexual content involving minors — in any form, real or generated. This is reported to the authorities and results in immediate, permanent removal.
- Sexual or explicit content outside the rules in §5.
- Harassment — bullying, stalking, doxxing, or unwanted contact, including through comments and circle invitations.
- Someone else's private information — addresses, phone numbers, payment details or documents that aren't yours to share.
- Impersonation — pretending to be another person, brand or organisation, including in your display name or profile photo.
- Spam and scams — bulk or repetitive posting, engagement farming, phishing, fraudulent fundraising, or misleading gift requests.
- Malware — links or files intended to harm devices or accounts.
Prohibited behaviour
- Working around the App's limits or paid features — including modifying the App, tampering with data our servers maintain, or using an unofficial client to grant yourself premium features, extra wishlists, extra items, ad credits or referral rewards.
- Abusing the ad or referral systems, including automated ad watching, fake accounts, and self-referral. See §8 and §9.
- Scraping, crawling or bulk-downloading other users' content, or using the App's data to build a competing dataset or service.
- Reverse engineering, decompiling, or attempting to extract source code or keys, except to the limited extent the law expressly allows you to.
- Probing, load-testing, or interfering with our infrastructure, or bypassing any security or rate limit.
- Creating a new account to evade a suspension or ban.
- Using the App in a way that breaks any applicable law, or the rules of the app store you installed it from.
5. Mature content
Caelo is a wishlist app, and some legal adult products (for example lingerie or adult toys) legitimately belong on a wishlist. We handle that with an explicit mature-content system rather than pretending it doesn't exist:
- Items that are sexual or adult in nature must be marked as mature. Our systems also classify text and images automatically and may mark or remove an item that wasn't flagged.
- Posting mature content is available to subscribers only.
- Mature content is only shown to users who are 18 or over and who have turned mature content on in their own settings. It is hidden from everyone else.
- Shared spaces (circles and collaborative wishlists) can disallow mature items, and mature items are removed from spaces that don't allow them.
- Explicit pornography, nudity as a profile picture or cover image, and any sexual content involving minors are never allowed, regardless of settings or subscription. Images are machine-classified before they are ever hosted or shown.
6. Moderation, suspension and termination
We use a combination of automated systems (including automated image classification and text checks) and human review to enforce these Terms. We may remove content, limit a feature, hide an account from discovery, suspend an account temporarily, or terminate an account permanently — with or without prior notice where the situation warrants it (for example, illegal content, child safety, an active security threat, or repeated violations).
Where an automated system has removed or rejected something you posted, you can dispute that decision in the App and a human will review it. If we suspend or terminate your account, we'll tell you why unless the law prevents us or telling you would help someone evade enforcement.
You can stop using Caelo and delete your account at any time. If your account is terminated, any unused subscription time, ad credits or referral rewards are forfeited, except where the law says otherwise.
7. Subscriptions and payments
- Caelo offers a free tier and paid subscription tiers with higher limits and additional features. The current tiers, prices and limits are shown in the App before you buy.
- Purchases are made through Apple's App Store or Google Play, not directly by us. Their terms and payment methods apply, and your subscription is managed in your store account.
- Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period until you cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, through your store account (there are shortcuts to that screen in the App). Cancelling stops the next renewal; it doesn't shorten the period you've already paid for.
- Refunds go through the store you paid with. Only Apple can refund App Store purchases; for Google Play purchases we review requests outside Google's own window case by case. How to ask is in our Refund Policy. If you live in the EU/EEA or the UK, your statutory rights — including any right of withdrawal that applies to digital purchases — are unaffected by this paragraph.
- Changing tier. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades take effect at the end of the period you've already paid for.
- If a subscription ends and you're over the free tier's limits, your content is not deleted — some of it becomes read-only or locked until you're back within the limits or subscribe again.
- We may change prices or what each tier includes. We'll give reasonable notice of a price change affecting a renewal, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
8. Ads and ad credits
The free tier is supported by advertising, delivered through Google AdMob. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent to personalised advertising before any ad loads, and you can opt out of data being used for personalised ads at any time ("Do Not Sell or Share My Info" in Settings → Data & Privacy).
You may also be offered the chance to watch a rewarded ad in exchange for a one-off credit (for example, room for one extra wishlist). Credits:
- have no cash value, cannot be transferred, sold or exchanged, and expire if your account is closed;
- are granted only after the ad network confirms to our servers that the ad was genuinely watched;
- are forfeited, along with anything obtained with them, if you attempt to automate, spoof or otherwise manipulate the process.
9. The referral program
You can invite friends with a personal invite link. The program works as described in the App, and at the date of these Terms that means:
- you can have a limited number of invited friends active at once;
- you earn a free week of your current plan when a friend you invited subscribes for the first time, and another free week once that friend has kept their subscription for a full month;
- a signup on its own earns nothing.
Referral rewards have no cash value and can't be transferred or exchanged. Rewards earned on one plan don't convert into a higher plan. We may withhold or reverse rewards, and suspend the account involved, where we reasonably believe the program has been abused — for example self-referral, fake or duplicate accounts, or subscriptions taken out and cancelled purely to generate rewards. We may change or end the referral program at any time; changes don't remove rewards you've already earned.
10. Gifting, reservations and retailers
Caelo helps people keep track of what they'd like and coordinate who's buying what. We are not a shop. We don't sell the items on your wishlists, we don't process payments for them, and we're not a party to any purchase you make from a retailer.
Marking an item as reserved or purchased in Caelo is a coordination signal between users. It creates no obligation to buy anything, gives no guarantee that an item is available, and any dispute about a purchase (delivery, returns, refunds, faults) is between you and the retailer.
11. Product links and third-party content
When you paste a product link, the App fetches public information from that page — typically a title, an image and a price — to fill in the item for you, and can re-check the price later if you ask it to watch the item. That information comes from the retailer, not from us:
- it may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date;
- a price shown in Caelo is not an offer and may differ from the retailer's actual price, currency or availability at any moment;
- the retailer's own terms and privacy policy apply when you follow a link.
We don't endorse any retailer or product that appears in the App. Some outbound links may include affiliate parameters, meaning we could earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
12. Availability and changes to the App
We work to keep Caelo available and reliable, but we don't promise uninterrupted service. We may add, change, suspend or remove features, and we may run features that are labelled as beta or experimental and may not work as intended.
If we discontinue the App entirely, we'll give reasonable notice where we can, and you'll be able to export your data before it closes.
13. Our intellectual property
The App itself — its software, design, the Caelo name and logo, and everything we created in it — belongs to us and is protected by intellectual property law. These Terms don't give you any right to use our branding, to copy the App, or to create a derivative work from it, beyond using the App normally as intended.
14. Copyright and content complaints
If you believe content on Caelo infringes your copyright or another right you hold, contact us (§20) with: what the content is and where to find it in the App, what right you hold and proof of it, your contact details, and a statement that you believe in good faith that the use isn't authorised. We'll review it, remove infringing content where the claim is valid, and may terminate repeat infringers.
You can also report any content or account directly in the App, which is the fastest route for harassment, spam and unsafe content.
15. Disclaimers
Except for what we expressly promise in these Terms — and without affecting any guarantee or right you have under mandatory consumer law, which we don't exclude — the App is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't warrant that it will be error-free, that content shown will be accurate, or that it will meet a particular purpose you have in mind.
16. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited under the law that applies to you. If you're a consumer in the EU/EEA or the UK, your mandatory statutory rights come first and this section applies only as far as the law allows.
Subject to that: we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost goodwill, or loss of data that isn't caused by our failure; and our total liability arising out of or relating to the App in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the App in that period and (b) €50.
We're also not responsible for what other users do — including a gift that never arrives, a wishlist someone shares further than you expected, or content another user posts.
17. Your responsibility for claims
If someone brings a claim against us because of content you posted or because you broke these Terms or the law, you agree to be responsible for that claim and for the reasonable costs it causes us — except to the extent it was our fault, and except where you're a consumer and the law says otherwise.
18. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, and the courts of the Netherlands have jurisdiction. If you're a consumer resident in the EU/EEA or the UK, this doesn't take away the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in, and you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
We'd much rather sort a problem out directly — please contact us first (§20). EU consumers can also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the App changes or the law requires. We'll update the "Effective date" above, and for material changes we'll give notice in the App before they take effect. If you keep using Caelo after a change takes effect, that means you accept the updated Terms; if you don't accept them, you can delete your account.
